Our Law Clerks
Each year, we hire a few second- or third-year law students to work with us part-time during the academic year and up to full-time during school breaks. They gain meaningful, real-world experience by assisting with legal research and many other aspects of preparing appellate briefs and related materials.
Mason Hernandez

Mason is a third-year student at the University of Kansas School of Law, where he serves as a staff editor for the Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy.

He previously interned with the Missouri State Public Defender in Kansas City.
​​
A native of Eaton, Colorado, Mason earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Wyoming in 2022.
Joshua Repplinger

Joshua is a second-year student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, where he is a staff member of the UMKC Law Review.
​​​​
Before law school, Joshua served in the U.S. Army as a military police officer stationed in Washington, and later worked as an elementary and middle school teacher.
​​​​
He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and earned a Bachelor of Science in education from Park University in 2021.
Isabelle Watkins

Isabelle is a third-year student at the University of Kansas School of Law.

She previously interned with the District Court of Johnson County, Kansas, and the Pima County Attorney’s office in Arizona.
​​​
A native of Overland Park, Kansas, Isabelle earned a Bachelor of Arts in law, summa cum laude and with departmental honors, from the University of Arizona in 2023.
