Our Law Clerks
Every year, we hire a few second- or third-year law students to work with us as law clerks part-time during the school year and up to full-time during breaks. They gain real-world experience providing valuable assistance with legal research projects and many other facets of preparing appellate briefs and other materials.
These are our current clerks.
Mason Hernandez
Mason is a third-year student at the University of Kansas School of Law, where he is Staff Editor for the Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy.

He previously interned with the Missouri State Public Defender in Kansas City.
​​
Mason grew up in Eaton, Colorado, and earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Wyoming in 2022.
Joshua Repplinger
Joshua is a second-year student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, where he is a staff member of the UMKC Law Review.

He previously served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman stationed in Washington. Before law school, he also spent several years as an elementary and middle school teacher.

Joshua grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and earned a bachelor of science degree in education from Park University in 2021.
Isabelle Watkins
Isabelle is a third-year student at the University of Kansas School of Law.

She previously interned with the District Court of Johnson County, Kansas, as well as with the Pima County, Arizona, County Attorney’s office.
​​
Isabelle grew up in Overland Park, Kansas, and earned a bachelor of arts degree in law, summa cum laude and with departmental honors, from the University of Arizona in 2023.
