Our Law Clerks
Each year, we hire a few second- or third-year law students to work with us part-time during the academic year and up to full-time during school breaks. They gain meaningful, real-world experience by assisting with legal research and many other aspects of preparing appellate briefs and related materials.
Adrian Castaner

Adrian is a second-year student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.

He previously interned with the Missouri State Appellate Public Defender in Kansas City.

Adrian grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Washington University in St. Louis in 2023.
Morgen Foster

Morgen is a second-year student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, where she is one of the few 90+ Scholars selected to complete her undergraduate and law degrees in five years.

She previously interned with the Jackson County, Missouri Prosecutor’s office and clerked at a mid-sized law firm in Kansas City.

Morgen grew up in Smithville, Missouri, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Missouri-Kansas City magna cum laude in 2025.
Danielle Wagner

Danielle is a second-year student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, where she received the highest grades in her class in Lawyering Skills and Client Interviewing.

She previously interned with a public interest law group in Overland Park, Kansas. Before law school, she was a legal assistant for the U.S. Army Trial Defense Service in North Carolina.

A native of Brighton, Colorado, Danielle earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management from Texas Christian University in 2022.
